Description

pOET9EF1α (cat# 200131) (10ug) is a baculovirus transfer vector designed for expression of foreign genes in mammalian cells under the Elongation Factor-1 Alpha (EF1α) gene promoter. Using this promoter allows for genes to be expressed in mammalian cell lines (e.g. CHO and HEK) but prevents the baculovirus from replicating, thus making it one of the safest mammalian protein expression systems on the market. It has a bacterial origin of replication and an ampicillin resistance gene for selection in E. coli. The polh sequences have been replaced by a multiple cloning site (MCS) containing unique restriction enzyme sites for insertion of the foreign gene in the correct orientation. pOET9EF1α is compatible with any baculovirus system that utilises homologous recombination in insect cells.

Variations

  • pOET6_BacMAM is larger than pOET9 and utilises a CMV gene promoter to express proteins in mammalian cell lines
  • pOET9CCAG same vector backbone as pOET9EF1α but with an CCAG gene promoter replacing EF1α
  • pOET9SV40 same vector backbone as pOET9EF1α but with an SV40 gene promoter replacing EF1α
  • pOET9CMV same vector backbone as pOET9EF1α but with a CMV gene promoter replacing EF1α
