Description

pOET9CCAG (cat# 200132) (10ug) is a baculovirus transfer vector designed for expression of foreign genes in mammalian cells under the Chicken Beta-Actin (CCAG) gene promoter. Using this promoter allows for genes to be expressed in mammalian cell lines (e.g. CHO and HEK) but prevents the baculovirus from replicating, thus making it one of the safest mammalian protein expression systems on the market. It has a bacterial origin of replication and an ampicillin resistance gene for selection in E. coli. The polh sequences have been replaced by a multiple cloning site (MCS) containing unique restriction enzyme sites for insertion of the foreign gene in the correct orientation. pOET9CCAG is compatible with any baculovirus system that utilises homologous recombination in insect cells.

Variations

  • pOET6_BacMAM is larger than pOET9 and utilises a CMV gene promoter to express proteins in mammalian cell lines
  • pOET9SV40 same vector backbone as pOET9CCAG but with an SV40 gene promoter replacing CCAG
  • pOET9EF1α same vector backbone as pOET9CCAG but with an EF1α gene promoter replacing CCAG
  • pOET9CMV same vector backbone as pOET9CCAG but with a CMV gene promoter replacing CCAG
