Did you know that in addition to our popular and highly regarded baculovirus based recombinant protein expression service, we also work with selected partner companies to offer access to other recombinant protein expression platforms, such as bacteria, yeast and mammalian cells?
As in the case of our baculoXPRESS service we can offer a complete gene to protein service, and we can also offer advice in respect of the choice of recombinant expression system. We will work with you to choose the optimal expression conditions, and to determine the most appropriate scale for the procedure. We can undertake pilot scale test runs or larger runs in bioreactors depending upon your needs.
While every project is different, typically a project would involve some or all of the following stages.
*Gene synthesis
*Cloning or subcloning of the gene into the relevant expression vector
*Advice on choice of tags needed for any subsequent purification steps
*Selection of the most appropriate expression platform for the protein
*Pilot project to test expression conditions
*Optimisation of expression conditions
*Scale-up of expression procedure for protein production
*Harvesting of cell pellets and/or supernatant for sending to the client
*Protein purification from biomass
*Supply of final material (protein, pellet or supernatant) to the client
*Final report detailing the procedures involved in the project and what was delivered
*Storage and retention of expression vectors for future use.
