Co-expression of proteins

Two proteins can be co-expressed either by using a multiple transfer plasmid that expresses two genes in one recombinant virus, or cells can be infected with two recombinant viruses each expressing a single protein.  The latter is very effective for two proteins but rapidly becomes inefficient if cells are infected with three or more recombinant viruses.
